Position: High School Counseling Office Secretary
Monday - Friday
7:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. (7.5 hours per day)
School year position - Student days plus an additional four (4) weeks

Job Requirements:
1. High School diploma.
3. Typing skills at 60 wpm or higher, proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Google Docs, and basic office equipment.
4. Preferred knowledge of the following school systems: PowerSchool and School Finance.
5. Basic accounting skills.
6. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
7. Able to establish and maintain good public relations.
8. Maintain and support confidentiality.
9. Be self-motivated.
10. Project a professional, friendly personality.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Set the tone for school and/or department by greeting students, parents, staff, and other guests in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner.
2. Help maintain and ensure a positive atmosphere of building/department and staff to the community.
3. Ability to diffuse difficult situations with students, staff, parents and community.
4. Ability to relate well and assist with appropriate-aged children.
5. Field incoming calls and forward calls to appropriate staff or assist caller when possible.
6. Verify student absences (unless handled by other staff or departments).
7. Type correspondence such as letters, memos, forms, newsletters, calendars, reports, etc.
8. Maintain building/department calendars.
9. Assist with arranging meetings.
10. Maintain building/department Web pages (when assigned).
11. Requisition supplies for building/department.
12. Maintain student and school files. Ensure confidentiality of student information.
13. Maintain daily attendance records (where assigned).
14. Assist with student scheduling (where assigned).
15. Prepare and maintain various state reports, i.e. Student Count, Enrollment, Special Education, State Immunization, etc.
16. Maintain payroll records and send to Payroll Department on the appropriate day (where assigned).
17. Build, maintain and coordinate athletic schedules with other school districts (where assigned).
18. Administer student medications and keep accurate medication records (when assigned by the building principal).
19. Administer First Aid to students and maintain accident logs.
20. Assist with building/department-level copy work.
21. Other duties as assigned.
22. Must follow established work rules.
