DETAILS : SR. SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Title : SR. SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Compensation : $120,000 - $140,000 base plus strong bonus plan, excellent benefits package
Start Date : ASAP
Location : La Vergne, TN (Hybrid work environment)
The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or directly related year for year experience
- 5 years' experience as a system engineer or equivalent role required
We have a preference for :
Experience designing, deploying, and supporting network routers and switches, including dynamic routing, overlays, and all layer 2 / 3 functionalityExperience designing, deploying, and supporting security appliances, such as traditional and next-gen firewalls, along with standalone or integrated IDS / IPS and SD-WAN technologiesExperience designing, deploying, and supporting either hardware or software load balancers, such as F5, NetScaler, HAProxy, or NginxThe Sr Systems (Network) Engineer key responsibilities are :
Troubleshoots problems related to physical and virtual infrastructure performance and resolve trouble tickets as assignedManages, participates, or performs tasks related to specific projects to implement new technology as assignedDesigns, builds, maintains and monitors systems and platforms ensuring they consistently exceed defined goals for availability, capacity, efficiency, scalability, and performanceDesigns, builds, implements, and maintains security, redundancy, backup, and logging strategiesEvaluates, maintains, and modifies established 'best practices' for infrastructure maintenance and asset managementCreates and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on manual tasksCreates and maintains consistent documentation for system configurations, installation and administration proceduresProvides detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, resources, and timelinesProvides clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee timely execution and successful implementationImplements and utilizes configuration automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, and SaltStackInteracts regularly with architects to identify, build, and implement automation to drive greater efficiencies and standardsThorndale Partners, LLC
