POSITION SUMMARY : The Cost Accounting Manager will assist in leading cost accounting related activities for Thorne. This role will oversee the financial operations associated with the implementation of inventory ERP accounting system and commercial readiness planning initiatives, transitioning to full commercial inventory and cost of good accounting. The position will develop and maintain cost information for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods, acting as the Finance liaison to the Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams. As a key member of the Finance team, you will ensure the company is well-positioned for successful commercialization of multiple products while maintaining compliance company standards. This is a hands-on role, interacting and collaborating with internal finance and other operations business partners to ensure the timely and accurate execution of tax responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and / or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's standard costing.
- Manage monthly financial close process for costing.
- Analyze standard costs and review standard cost roll-ups for new products and production operations.
- Support ERP implementation.
- Support gross margin monthly analysis, fluctuation analysis, and reporting.
- Develop and support productivity reporting.
- Develop manufacturing metrics, dashboard, and supplier scorecards.
- Analyze Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
- Support inventory forecasting and analysis for potential excess and obsolete reserves.
- Partner with IT to optimize ERP systems for commercial manufacturing and cost tracking.
- Prepare capital project analysis and support.
- Identify areas of operations improvement and cost savings.
- Conduct formal and informal performance assessments of staff as appropriate, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors, and leadership potential, and seek the same for self.
- Actively participate in required training and development programs and electives as suit one’s needs, and support
