Senior Civil Engineer - Transportation

Our Transportation practice includes civil engineering, bridge & structural engineering, Resident Engineering and Inspection, Bridge Inspection, and geotechnical engineering. We specialize in analysis, design, evaluation, monitoring, and rehabilitation for a wide variety of transportation infrastructure projects. We offer a wide range of expertise to support client needs for both new and existing transportation infrastructure.

The Role

We are looking for someone who looks forward to being involved in all phases of civil infrastructure project development including planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design and technical specifications and reports. You will work with a team of multi-disciplined engineers, while also providing technical guidance to CADD personnel and Junior Engineers.

Responsibilities

• You can expect to design a complete project or a major component of a larger project, one that solves transportation issues.
• You will have direct verbal and written communication with clients and other consultants.
• You will be creating plans and coordinating detailed aspects of the engineering work.
• You will be expected to supervise and mentor junior staff necessary to complete assignments.
• You will be expected to participate on proposals for new project pursuits, which will include writing assignments, technical approaches, and scheduling.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
• P.E. License preferred.
• 7 years of experience in roadway, utility, and infrastructure design and rehabilitation.
• Experience with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDEP and NYC Transit standards preferred.
• Knowledge of AASHTO design methods, standards, and specifications.
  
  

Compensation

The rate for this position generally is $105,000 - $135,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
