Our Construction Engineering practice helps developers, contractors, designers, fabricators, and erectors efficiently and effectively move projects from initial concept to completion through hands-on involvement in the construction process. Our Boston office prides itself on providing practical and innovative solutions to real-world engineering challenges. Typical projects include evaluation of temporary construction loads and building stability during construction, rigging and shoring design and erection engineering.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Structural Senior Project Engineer for our Construction Practice. Candidates for this role should have experience in medium to large-sized projects such as; cultural buildings, office buildings, health care, research facility design, and tenant renovation work preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials including various building codes.
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
• Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment.
• Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
• Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
• Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and draft persons.
  
  

Requirements

• Degree in structural engineering.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Ability and willingness to travel locally in Boston with some US travel.
  
  

Compensation

The rate for this position generally is $100,000 - $120,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Massachusetts Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Massachusetts applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Massachusetts or perform the position from Massachusetts. Similar positions located outside of Massachusetts will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by Massachusetts Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
