Description:
The Seasonal Worker is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining store appearance, and supporting business goals. Key Responsibilities include:
•Delivering a "how may I help you" attitude to guests and following instructions from management.
•Ringing all sales accurately according to operations procedures.
•Maintaining proper sale and accounting of money orders/lottery during shifts.
•Accurately tracking price overrides, store use of merchandise, voids, returns, and waste.
•Keeping coolers, fast lane merchandise, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times.
•Cleaning and maintaining equipment and preparing high-margin products such as coffee and fountain drinks.
•Using suggestive selling techniques to suggest items that complement purchases and inviting guests to join the rewards program.
•Reporting any sales, cash, or operating discrepancies to Store Management.
•Maintaining a clean store environment by regularly cleaning windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and restrooms.
•Cleaning the parking lot and grounds surrounding the store as needed.
•Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety problems to Store Management.
•Practicing safe working habits in accordance with company safety rules.
•Utilizing the Guest Service Department for guest service issues.
•Staying informed about Thorntons policies relevant to the SW position through the company intranet.
•Complying with all applicable laws and regulations regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other products.
•Performing additional duties as assigned.
•Maintaining PAR levels as outlined on the PAR sheet per store expectations.Requirements:
•Education: High School Diploma or GED.
•Experience: All experience considered.
•Knowledge/Skills: Ability to speak, read, understand, and write English; perform accurate mathematical calculations; possess high energy and strong work ethic; exhibit excellent interpersonal skills; provide strong guest service; work well in a team environment; and have sufficient visual acuity to check identification and process money orders.
•Equipment/Special Expertise: N/A.
•Other Considerations: Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows, stock shelves, and make price changes; properly records time on the TOTS system and signs a time report verifying all hours worked; and understands that company funds are not available for personal use.
