About the role

  • This is a full-time on-site role for an Account Manager at Thorp Controls in the Wichita, Kansas Metropolitan Area. The Account Manager is responsible for the effective sales efforts in their assigned area. This position will be expected to develop new customer accounts, maintain the existing book of business, advise customers on branch offerings, and introduce new services to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a list of prospective customers with the manager, determine appropriate sales strategies, call on customers, and follow up with additional visits and correspondence as appropriate
  • Analyze and understand customer requirements
  • Creates and follows up on quotations for customers either directly or in coordination with the Inside Sales Team.
  • Have thorough knowledge of competition in the marketplace and competitive bid situations
  • Utilizes Thorp CRM platform to record activities and opportunities per current Company policies and procedures.
  • Strives to exceed customer expectations and builds strong relationships with current and perspective clients.
  • Develops and maintains solid relationships with suppliers and their representatives in the region.
  • Schedules and documents joint sales calls with Vendors.
  • Qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Trade School Certificate in engineering or technical discipline is preferred.
  • 3 years of Outside Sales experience is required; 5 years is preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant automation industry experience is preferred.
  • Results driven.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer / Client focus.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Goal Setting.
  • Ability to independently self-start or work together as a part of a team.
  • Technology fluent in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • The pay range for this role is :

    50,000 - 150,000 USD per year(Wichita Delta)
