Role and Responsibilities
- Manage shop workforce manhours
- Direct Safety meetings
- Assign tasks to shop supervision and manage the allotted manhours for those task.
- Manage raw material consumption and order raw materials accordingly.
- Hold scheduling meetings with shop staff and adjust to meet customer requirements.
- Have input on shop fabrication estimates.
- Have financial responsibility for the production outcomes.
- Determine and communicate any performance issues with the Project Manager
- Establish and set performance goals and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain a team relationship with the client utilizing positive communication.
- Organize and manage shop fabrication activities to meet or exceed project completion schedules.
- Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
- Responsible and accountable for employee’s own personal safety, as well as the safety of all co-workers and any others the employee meets.
- Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed. Brings problems to the attention of the Project Manager.
- This position can frequently require long hours and weekend work.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of Supervisory experience in a construction environment.
- Composites experience is preferred.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Knowledge of FRP pipe and tanks is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret prints associated with FRP and Composites industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors, including the ability to speak and understand English.
- Possess a strong initiative, enjoy being a team player, ability to juggle competing priorities, and self-manage to meet deadlines.
- Shop Forklift Experience
Physical Requirements
- Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.
- Standing or sitting for long periods of time.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear, sitting for long periods of time.
- Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
- Lifting objects of minimum of 10lbs, with maximum single-person lift limit of 50lbs.
- The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
