Bulkyard Associate

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring the smooth operation of The Bulkyard. This is a seasonal position; starting in March/April and running potentially through November. Various shifts will be available as The Bulkyard hours of operations are 7 days a week during peak season. Opportunity for overtime will be available.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Following all safety rules and abiding by employee handbook
• Being responsible for sales, loading and unloading bulk products, boulders, pavers, bagged products, etc in The Bulkyard
• Being able to safely operate Bulkyard equipment including trucks, mini-excavator, skid-steer, etc.
• Maintaining equipment by keeping it clean, organized, and serviced
• Maintaining an ever-expanding knowledge of bulk stone, soils, mulches and other landscaping products
• Operating a Point-of-Sale system to operate cash register
• Handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Assisting with retail sales and plant care at The Garden Path
• Maintaining and tracking inventory
• Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with all staff and peers
• Cleaning and organizing office spaces
• Being motivated to make a positive impact on day-to-day operations

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in financial transactions.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts and inventory management practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
• Experience with product demonstrations and upselling strategies is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials (often 50 lbs)
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Stamina for standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment for long periods

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
