Position: Accounting Intern

Location: Thread Bank, Nashville TN

Duration: June 2nd – Aug 8th (10 weeks)

Type: Internship (Full-Time) - 8:30 – 4:30

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our finance team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in banking and financial accounting. The intern will assist in various accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance, under the supervision of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting tasks, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Help in processing invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Analyze financial data and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the finance team.
• Financial analysis:
• Liquidity
• Loan and Deposit structures
• Prepayment speeds
• Product pricing
• Empyrean: (July)
• Loading quarterly data into model
• Running reports
• Analyze / back test investments securities (analytics reports monthly)
• Read IRR articles for knowledge
  
  

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
