The intern will assist in various accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance, under the supervision of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Help in processing invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Analyze financial data and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the finance team.
- Financial analysis:
- Liquidity
- Loan and Deposit structures
- Prepayment speeds
- Product pricing
- Empyrean: (July)
- Loading quarterly data into model
- Running reports
- Analyze / back test investments securities (analytics reports monthly)
- Read IRR articles for knowledge
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Hands-on experience in banking and financial accounting.
- Exposure to real-world financial operations in a banking environment.
