Description
We are seeking a 2nd shift Manufacturing Supervisor that will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of various departments on the manufacturing floor. The supervisor will lead a team of CNC operators, machinists, and technicians to optimize production, enforce safety standards, and drive continuous improvement manufacturing processes.
*Manufacturing Supervisor is for second shift, training occurs during 1st shift.*
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of CNC operators and machinists in the production of ball screws.
- Schedule and prioritize production tasks to meet customer deadlines and internal targets.
- Monitor production progress, resolve delays, and address any operational or quality issues.
- Troubleshoot quality-related problems and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations to CNC operators and machinists to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Enforce safety protocols, provide equipment training, and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations through regular safety audits and hazard identification.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of CNC machines and related equipment.
- Identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with teams to improve flow, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
- Monitor and report on production performance, downtime, and other critical metrics. Maintain accurate records related to production, machine performance, and inventory levels.
- Track and manage raw material and finished product inventory to ensure smooth production flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machinery (e.g., turning, milling, grinding) and CAD/CAM systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, particularly for precision parts like ballscrews.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP software systems for tracking production data and performance.
