Position Overview
Threat Tec, LLC, a leader in operational training and support, is seeking an Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team supporting the Fleet Experimentation and War Gaming Development initiative for the Navy Warfare Development Center (NWDC). This position demands a seasoned analyst with a strong foundation in operational research, multi-domain analysis, and data-driven decision support. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Navy operations and a passion for shaping the future of naval warfare through rigorous experimentation and war gaming support.
\n- Apply analytical, operational, and multi-domain expertise to develop and define research and development (R&D) objectives supporting analysis tasks.
- Select and implement appropriate research methodologies and analysis techniques to achieve R&D objectives in support of Navy-focused initiatives.
- Provide expert input into the development of Data Collection and Analysis Plans (DCAPs) to scope, frame, and bound directed studies.
- Collaborate in Focused Collection and Analysis Teams (FCATs) to conduct data collection, perform detailed analysis, and deliver findings through:
- Quicklook reports
- Formal briefings
- Detailed reports and presentations
- Analyze inputs from fleet lessons learned, post-deployment briefs, experiments, and other data repositories to uncover trends and capability gaps.
- Author and contribute to Navy Lessons Learned Bulletins (NLLBs) to disseminate critical findings across the Navy enterprise.
- Develop and apply analytical tools including models and databases using tools such as:
- Visual Basic
- Python
- R
- or similar programming languages to support experimental analysis and data exploration.
- 5 to 12 years of experience in analytical or operational roles within defense or naval environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Military Science).
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance (active).
- Demonstrated experience in data-driven analysis and tool development in support of military experimentation or wargaming.
- Proficiency in analytical programming languages (Python, R, Visual Basic, or similar).
- Prior experience as a Naval Officer.
- Working knowledge of Naval operations and supporting warfighting capabilities.
- Familiarity with DoD experimentation processes, Fleet exercises, and wargaming frameworks.
