Charge nurses play a critical role in the hierarchy of a hospital healthcare team. Acting as a point of contact for nursing staff, physicians, and hospital administration. As a charge nurse, you will manage a shift of nurses in your unit. Charge nurses assist the leaders with creating work schedules, oversee admissions and discharges, and help maintain the overall quality of care in the units.
Base rate is dependent on applicant’s relevant experience. This position will receive a base rate charge differential of $4.00 an hour and shift differential.
Summary of Duties:
- Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. U
- Facilitates shift organization to achieve optimal patient appropriate resource utilization and manages conflict
- Works collaboratively with physicians and nursing staff to ensure that high standards of care is rendered in all phases of patient care
- Collaboration with perioperative team, recovery room team to ensure highest qualify of patient care
- Applies evidence-based practice to deliver highest of patient care. Consistently incorporates nursing and regulatory standards of care into practice.
Minimal Requirements:
- Required: State Nursing License
- Required: Current BLS and ACLS
- Required 2 years hospital or surgery center experience
- Leadership experience preferred
- Previous experience in critical care or PACU preferred
