A skilled and detail-oriented Informatics Specialist with a strong background in healthcare IT and clinical systems, with a focus on Cerner CommunityWorks software. Self-motivated, proactive professional with a strong work ethic, eager to take initiative and independently seek out meaningful tasks and opportunities. Have a strong understating of clinical workflows and patient care processes in a healthcare setting. The Informatics Specialist will work closely with clinicians, IT teams, and stakeholders to analyze, configure, implement, and support clinical information systems to enhance patient care, improve workflows, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
The incumbent will carry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge and support for the Cerner system, including implementation, upgrades, and optimization.
- Assist in the configuration, customization, and troubleshooting of clinical applications, particularly within the Cerner environment.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to map current workflows, analyze gaps, and design solutions to optimize system efficiency.
- Provide end-user training and ongoing support to ensure efficient and effective use of clinical systems.
- Work with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of clinical systems with other healthcare applications, including EHRs and other third-party systems.
- Collect, analyze, and document functional requirements from clinical stakeholders to configure and implement Cerner solutions.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure the Cerner system operates effectively and meets clinical needs.
- Ensure clinical systems adhere to relevant regulations such as HIPAA, meaningful use, and other industry standards.
- Stay current with healthcare technology trends and Cerner updates to recommend and implement system improvements.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Required: 3 years of experience working with clinical information systems. Cerner experience is strongly preferred.
- Required: Associate degree in health care related field, nursing preferred; experience in healthcare related IT systems and software desired.
- Required: Technical knowledge and experience in electronic medical records required. Ideally, proficient in Cerner CommunityWorks, Cerner PowerChart, FirstNet, Revenue Cycle, and other Cerner modules are a significant advantage.
