Responsible for planning and implementing the overall diagnostic imaging policies and procedures for several modalities which may include Mammography, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Diagnostic Imaging, Computer-Assisted Tomography, and Ultrasound. Responsible for developing plans for all diagnostic imaging equipment, managing team members, and assisting technicians with patients. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures the project/department goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.
The incumbent will carry out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinates activities of diagnostic imaging department in a hospital.
- Reviews work schedules and assigns duties for patient flow and production goals.
- Oversees staff operating imaging equipment (x-ray, fluoroscopy, CT scanner) and ensures image quality.)
- Provides technical assistance and training on new techniques and equipment.
- Implements radiation safety measures and compliance with regulations.
- Develop plans, policies, and procedures for operations and purchasing.
- Contributes to strategic decisions affecting the department.
- Resolves escalated issues and collaborates with other departments.
- Integrate sustainability principles into department operations.
- Implement eco-friendly practices and resource management.
- Collaborates on sustainable healthcare strategies with other departments.
- Conduct assessments and audits for sustainable improvements.
- Provides sustainability training for staff.
- Sources sustainable products and technologies.
- Monitors and reports sustainability performance metrics.
- Ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
- Improves productivity through workflow optimizations.
- Implements performance metrics and KPIs for productivity tracking.
- Provides staff training on time management and efficiency.
- Addresses barriers to productivity and foster continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with relevant stakeholders for resource optimization.
- Develops workload distribution and task prioritization strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations for efficiency improvements.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: Five years radiology experience.
- Required: Two years in a management/supervisory role.
- Required: Meet all Employee Health Requirement
- Required: Current Medical Radiologic Technologist license.
- Required: Current ARRT Certified
- Required: Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
