At the administrative direction of the Radiology Manager and Director of Ancillary Services, and the clinical direction of the Radiologist, independently performs majority of exams with minimum supervision done within the section of Interventional Radiology and the Radiology Department.
Responsible for providing services in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
The incumbent will carry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.
Primary Responsibilities
- Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
- Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patients’ family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patients’ ability to tolerate exam.
- Works collaboratively with physicians, nursing and other departmental staff.
- Prepares patient or area for IR procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques.
- Monitors resource utilization, supplies and expenses.
- Properly record patient information and maintain EHR.
- Perform quality control checks/audits on radiology equipment.
- Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.
- Assists leadership in maintaining all required policies, procedures, standards, and records for applicable governmental, regulatory and accrediting organizations by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of OSHA, TJC, TDH and ACR.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Required: Associate’s Degree from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of related experience
Required: Meet all Employee Health Requirement
License/Certification(s)
- Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography ARRT(R) Certification
- Required: NM Medical Imaging License (MIRTP).
- Required: Current BLS Certification; ACLS preferred
