Under the general supervision of the Imaging Manager, the MRI Technologist is responsible for independently performing the majority of exams with minimum supervision within the section of radiology. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of Federal and State regulatory agency standards related to healthcare organizations. Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care. The ability to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information both verbally and in writing as required. Must be flexible with work schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts.
- Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance.
- Revises plan of patient care as needed.
- Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI duties.
- Provides compassion to the patient and the patient's family members.
- Provide for the physical needs of patients for MR procedures.
- Must have the ability to handle critical care situations which can create a high level of stress.
- Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.
- Administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate degree from an Accredited Radiology/CT Program
- Required: 1 years MRI experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality.
- Preferred: 3 years MRI experience
- Preferred: Possess a level of clinical expertise and competency in cross sectional anatomy.
- Required: ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist or obtain ARRT (MR) certification within 18 months of hire.
- Required: BLS Certification
- Required: Meet all Employee Health Requirement.
