Part-Time Decorator/Baker

Looking for an experienced Decorator/Baker to join our team. Will be responsible for the day-to-day baking and decorating of pastry case items. Ensure that the needs of the bakery are delivered in a quick and efficient manner. Maintain pastry case appearance and product presentation to company standards. Become familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures of baking. This position will report to manager and owner.

Part-Time Decorator/Baker Responsibilities:

• Be honest, reliable and trustworthy
• Work between 15-20 hours per week
• Provide excellent customer service
• Learn to personalize products for customers (piping/frosting/seasonal requests)
• Be knowledgeable of baked goods and basic dog dietary needs
• Maintains stock levels for all fresh-baked items
• Continue to learn and improve on baking techniques
• Learn and teach staff how to personalize products for customers
• Maintain product presentation and kitchen cleanliness
• Keeps all equipment clean
• Keeps workspace tidy during baking hours
• Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes workspace after baking
• Perform daily store operations
• Opening and closing duties as required
• Utilize forms and maintain daily paperwork as required
• Provide continual creative suggestions and ideas for new products to sell
• Pastry case displays
• Increasing store sales
• Special events and promotional ideas

Requirements:

• Have baking and cake decorating experience
• Be positive, enthusiastic, outgoing and confident
• Be willing to learn, take instruction well and work as a team
• Have an outgoing personality and the ability to interact well with people and dogs to make their experience in the bakery fun and enjoyable
• Ability and willingness to keep busy throughout the day
• Be organized and diligent with paperwork
• Ability to learn new techniques
• Have a true love of dogs, to look out for their best interest and suggest beneficial products for their health, happiness and wellbeing
• Some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items up to 35lbs
• Ability to multi-task

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
