Role Overview:
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial analysis, market research, and asset performance tracking to support TLP’s growing real estate portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, this individual will work on financial modeling, underwriting, and investment reporting across multifamily, industrial, and value-add assets. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Assist in conducting financial feasibility studies for potential acquisitions and developments.
- Support the development of financial models to analyze cash flow projections, deal structures, and investment returns.
- Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses to evaluate risk-adjusted returns and capital allocation strategies.
Market Research & Portfolio Monitoring
- Track market trends, rent comps, and economic indicators to support underwriting and asset performance optimization.
- Analyze property operating statements and assist in the preparation of performance variance reports.
- Help maintain asset management dashboards and internal performance tracking tools.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Assist in the creation of annual budgets, reforecasts, and variance analyses for the portfolio.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders, lenders, and investors.
- Support the development of investment memorandums and presentations for senior leadership and capital partners.
Lease & Tenant Analysis
- Evaluate lease structures, tenant financials, and market comps to optimize revenue strategies.
- Assist in underwriting new leases, renewals, and capital improvement projects to maximize NOI growth.
Risk & Compliance Support
- Monitor loan covenants, insurance requirements, and regulatory compliance for the portfolio.
- Assist in identifying risk mitigation strategies related to financing, leasing, and market conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with development, finance, and property management teams to align asset strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or Economics
- 1-3 years of experience or equivalent in real estate investment, asset management, or financial analysis (internships count)
- Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills (Excel proficiency required)
- Analytical mindset with a detail-oriented approach to financial data and reporting
- Strong communication skills and ability to present findings to senior leadership
Preferred:
- Experience in multifamily or industrial real estate
- Familiarity with Argus, RealPage, or Yardi software
- Knowledge of real estate finance, valuation, and investment principles
- Exposure to TIF financing, tax credits, and public incentives
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Must be able to travel periodically for site visits, investor meetings, and industry conferences
- Regular in-office presence expected, with flexibility for priority situations
