Volunteer Coordinator, Full time
Salary depending on experience
Hybrid work onsite and from home (80-20)
Approx 1-2 Saturdays per month - onsite or at local events
Health benefits post probationary period
Three Little Pitties Rescue is looking for a strong, outgoing and confident Volunteer Coordinator to lead and grow this critical department. The ideal candidate is someone who recognizes what needs to be done and takes initiative to do it as the rescue is a fast-paced environment. This position would be perfect for a member of the Friendswood community, someone willing to attend local events to recruit volunteers and educate our neighbors about our mission. Since volunteers are working with us seven days a week, and most local Friendswood events happen on weekends, one to two weekend workdays days a month will be expected (not full days).
Additionally, the Volunteer Coordinator will :
- Lead the Volunteer Department
- Attend bi-weekly meetings of leadership
- Communicate with directors and staff
- Build out training program for volunteers for welcoming and organized approach
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the department
- Establish and maintain strong positive relationships with volunteers and community members
- Problem solve and resolve conflict when needed
- Maintain database for volunteers according to cohesive data goals within one single org-wide platform
- Review and contact volunteer applications within 24 business hours
- Manage volunteer staff members within the department
- Research and Create a volunteer retention strategy and execute
- Research best practices with online resources and other Houston area rescues
- Organize and carry out volunteer appreciation events 2x annually, Coordinated with Foster department, within budget
- Develop volunteer recruitment marketing and strategies
- Attend local Friendswood events 4x per year to recruit volunteers (weekends)
- Eblasts, messaging, etc
- Lead 4 on-site volunteer workdays per year (Saturday or Sunday)
