What will I do as a Director of Learning and Development?

  • Maintains department budget.
  • Maintains files of lesson plans and attendance for all programs taught to employees and ensures training records are retained per company policy.
  • Develop with departments and maintain assessment of departmental training programs
  • Develops and maintains processes to make continuing education programs available to all campus staff.
  • Develop and deploy training assessment tool to identify training and delivery needs for campus staff, including the leadership team.
  • Communicate availability of learning opportunities whether on site, online, or externally.
  • As directed, implements/assists with training on workplace safety programs in the facility.
  • Identifies essential competencies in collaboration with campus wide leaders for licensed and non-licensed staff. Collaborates with campus wide leadership team to develop annual skills/education fair
  • Work with Vice President of People to develop and implement leadership and supervisory training programs.
  • Develop and maintain status as an AHA Training Site for CPR and First Aid-
  • Maintains certification as CBRF Certification trainer.
  • Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training.
  • Review, monitor and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff, leadership, and outside partners.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify the needs for coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skill.
  • Responsible for creation and oversight of departmental mentor programs.
  • Establish Learning and Development (LD) objectives and specific strategies and tasks to achieve them.
  • Communication with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
  • Introduce learning programs to support strategic objectives.
  • Plan and execute Three Pillars' overall strategic objectives related to learning and development.
  • Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPI) relevant to LD functions
  • Work with leadership to establish a culture of continuous learning.
  • Implement coaching sessions and mentorship programs.
  • Develop and deploy training program catalog for campus staff including leadership team. Plans develop and provide training and staff development programs using effective methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training meetings conferences and
  • Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses provided by community school and designed training programs.
  • Responsible for obtaining Request for Proposal (RFP) for necessary external trainers.
  • Skilled in developing and delivering programs for successful adult learning. This includes instructional methods, leading small and large groups, curriculum development, and program assessment.
  • Skilled communicator and current with all instructional practices and applicable technology.
  • Takes initiative, organized, detail oriented, and requires minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and delivery of training for state, federal, and licensing regulations for healthcare.
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.

What is required in this position?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university related to Learning and Development, Human Resources, or Talent Development.
  • Four (4) years of full-time equivalent experience in facilitating employee training, including planning, and developing programs.
  • DISC, Myers Briggs, or other related certifications a plus.
