Business Analyst (Remote- MDV candidates only)

Job Title: Business Analyst
Client: Healthcare Insurance Company
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Remote but Client is considering candidates only from MD, VA and DC states (no relocation)

Job Description:

Purpose:

• Ensure changes to processes, policies, and systems are identified, analyzed, documented, and acted upon.
• Translate business needs into specifications for low-complexity software, systems, or services.
• Act as a conduit between business and technical teams.

Essential Functions:

• 25%: Gather and analyze business requirements; participate in planning and verification.
• 25%: Oversee user acceptance testing and ensure system quality.
• 20%: Identify and troubleshoot systems, software, and process issues.
• 20%: Document business systems and user needs clearly.
• 10%: Monitor project status, manage risks, and ensure timely deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s in Business, IT, or related field (or 4 years of relevant experience).
• Experience: 3 years in business, data, or systems analysis.

Additional Skills:      

• Healthcare industry
• Schedule: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; may require extra help from December to February during peak enrollment season
• Experience of Business Analyst experience required
• Strong understanding of EDI 834
• 1-2 years of EDI experience required
• Some experience of Facets and Halifax preferred
• Advanced knowledge of Excel is required
• Setting up accounts in the system and conducting claims audits through EDI files
