What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutoring Specialist - ACHIEVE position at Three Rivers College?
The Tutor Specialist position is part of the TRIO grant-funded program Student Support Services, known as ACHIEVE at Three Rivers College. The role of the Tutor Specialist is to oversee the daily operations of the tutoring services available to ACHIEVE participants, including the supervision of the Peer Tutors. This position will also offer academic services to students including workshops relating to study and classroom management, career, social, and academic skills, in accordance with the TRIO SSS guidelines. The Tutor Specialist will assist with all aspects of the grant program requirements including reports, summaries, and maintaining the ACHIEVE participant database.
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, social services, or related field is required. Minimum of two years’ experience in education and/or related field required. Knowledge of academic support services such as tutoring required. Training and/or experience in working with students with disabilities and TRIO programs preferred. Experience working in online/virtual settings preferred. The Tutor Specialist must be knowledgeable about academic, economic, social, and cultural needs of first generation, low income and students with disabilities, as well as knowledgeable in methods to assist in meeting such needs.
Salary range is $16.00 - $18.00 per hour. Excellent fringe benefit package including, but not limited to health, dental, vision, and life insurance; sick and vacation leave; and the Missouri Public School & Education Employee Retirement System. Generous holiday schedule.
