Three Rivers Mosquito and Vector Control is seeking to hire a Part-Time Seasonal\ Night-time Mosquito Night Technician. You will be controlling mosquito populations by applying an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) mosquito control product ATV to contracted communities, subdivisions, industrial sites, individual and other areas. You will be responsible for protecting our customers from disease and annoyance caused by mosquitoes. Hands-on training will be provided in all areas, no experience needed, but is highly sought after. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about public health, sustainability, and who is looking for a flexible, graveyard shift position. WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY
This position earns a competitive hourly wage of $20 per hour and generally works Monday-Friday, 6:00 pm to 2:00 am with some Saturday and Sundays if needed (start/end times may vary, days, weekends and some holidays may be required based on business needs). The Part-Time Night Technician works an average of 15-40 hours a week and supports the mosquito control operation (generally May - September).
EXPERIENCE:
No previous experience is required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MOSQUITO NIGHT TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities include but not limited to: (Training will be provided)
- Ability to follow GPS Routes and read maps
- ATV ULV (ultra-low volume) spraying of contracted communities streets, industrial sites, and other areas
- Document all treatment records into our database via company issued tablet
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a high school degree or equivalent
- Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
- Have a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
- Be able to sit, drive a vehicle for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry an up to 80 lb. backpack during treatments for extensive amounts of time
- Must be able to work through the end of our season (generally August/September)
- Required to pass the Oregon Department of Agriculture Exams (training materials provided)
- Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties in the field from a vehicle while navigating through various residential communities, urban environments and traffic patterns where environmental conditions that is affected by weather.
- Capable of using a handheld technical device including, but not limited to, smartphones, GPS, and system applications.
