What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at Three Rivers Park District?
Three Rivers Park District is seeking to fill the position of Engineering Technician at our Administrative Center in Plymouth, MN. This position is responsible for performing technical office and fieldwork related to planning, design, construction and land management using CADD, GIS software, and a variety of survey tools and equipment.
This position will support the Design Department, which consists of Engineers, Architects, and Project Managers. Some of the duties of this position include:
- Drafting with AutoCAD design software
- Construction inspection and observation
- Supporting the civil engineering related asset management programs
- Supporting field survey activities utilizing survey and Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment
- Utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) software, Cartegraph, and Microsoft Office applications
An Associate degree from a university or vocational technical school in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related civil engineering field and three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible complex technical civil engineering and surveying experience or High school graduation or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED), and certificate or diploma in engineering or architectural CAD drafting and minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience related to civil engineering technician and CAD drafting or any combination of education and experience equivalent to the above. Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying, CADD, GIS, engineering and construction procedures.

Pay: $26.44 - $33.65 per hour
