Three Rivers School District is hiring for the following licensed position for the 2025-26 school year: 

Speech Language Pathologist (Multiple Positions Available) 

Permanent

FTE: 1.0

Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) or is licensed by Teacher Standards and Practice Commission (TSPC) prior to July 1, 2016.

Bilingual and biliterate candidates are encouraged to apply.

Salary: $46,781.33-$91,302.64

JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides specialized services for elementary, middle, high or alternative education students that requires a specialized license from the State of Oregon.  This position promotes healthy school climates that are conducive to learning and require high levels of multi-layered collaboration. Input on IEPs and 504s is frequently required as well as providing staff training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A valid State of Oregon License appropriate for the position (example: mental health, SLP, Psychologist, etc.).
  2. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Master’s required for most State of Oregon licenses).
  3. The ability to follow oral and written directions.
  4. The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  5. Proficient oral and written communication skills in at least one language, two languages preferred but not required.
  6. Proficient in the use of computer and internet based applications, including but not limited to email and Google applications.
  7. Ability to learn new systems as they are brought online by the District.
  8. Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff and district patrons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
  2. Annually pass the District’s required online training, CPR/First Aid, and other training provided by the District.
  3. Maintain current licenses and certifications required for the position.
  4. Follow and maintain knowledge of all applicable District policies and procedures; follow and maintain knowledge of all current state and federal laws or administrative rules pertaining to public education.
  5. Build relationships.
  6. Develop and maintain an environment conducive to effective learning; promotes high levels of achievement in relation to individual student abilities.
  7. Plans a program of intervention that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students; assists in the selection of curriculum, equipment and other instructional materials.
  8. Organize instruction using learning objectives and clearly defined student outcomes.
  9. Selects strategies that emphasize student involvement and engagement.
  10. Develop clear behavioral expectations.
  11. Prepares feedback for report cards and progress reports; conferences with students, parents/guardians and other staff members; maintains open lines of communication.
  12. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, curriculum and instructional methods (example: PLC, Site Council).
  13. Takes all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment, materials and facilities.
  14. Participates in District provided professional development.
  15. Attends work regularly and is punctual.
  16. Attends staff meetings and substitutes for others as needed.
  17. Speech Language Pathologist: Screen, evaluate and identify eligible students for speech and language services; design and implement appropriate intervention strategies; collect student performance data and establish and maintain a daily schedule. Provide information relative to communication disorders to students, parents, teachers and community partners (when appropriate).
  18. Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) or is licensed by Teacher Standards and Practice Commission (TSPC) prior to July 1, 2016.
  19. Provide information relative to communication disorders to students, parents, teachers and others as appropriate.
  20. Collaborate with teachers and parents regarding program content and intervention services.
  21. Collect student performance data and establish and maintain a daily schedule.
  22. Monitor effectiveness of intervention.
  23. Implement requirements of Federal and State regulations.
  24. Maintain records and reports required by District, State and Federal agencies.
  25. Cooperate with various agencies in referring and providing appropriate reciprocal services.
  26. Analyze and forecast the need for services.
  27. Provide services directly or through consultation as listed in the student’s IEP.
  28. Write IEP goals and objectives as necessary for the student on an IEP who requires services from an SLP.
  29. Collect student performance data for determining the extent to which student IEP goals and objectives are achieved.
  30. Perform duties and expectations of a Case Manager.
  31. Partner and collaborate with teachers and specialists to ensure IEP is implemented.
  32. Provide instruction and direction to assigned educational assistants ensuring delivery of instructional services.
  33. Submit IEP paperwork in a timely manner.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise and direct the work of educational assistants and/or teacher aides. All school employees  have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.

The employee is  frequently required to walk; stand; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with  hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to  stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision  abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus,  depth perception and peripheral vision.

The work environment is standard classroom and stage settings. The noise level in the work environment  is usually moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. Employee  may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
