Job Summary:
The Peer Respite Host is responsible for providing peer support, guidance, and a safe environment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges or crisis. This role involves utilizing personal lived experience to connect with and assist guests in their recovery journey.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Peer Support:
Provide empathetic and non-judgmental peer support to guests.
Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and resilience.
Foster a sense of community and connection among guests.
2. Assessment and Planning:
Collaborate with guests to identify their immediate needs and goals.
Assist in developing a recovery plan that includes coping strategies and resources.
Offer emotional support during difficult moments.
3. Safety and Crisis Intervention:
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests.
Intervene during crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
Follow established protocols for emergency situations.
4. Daily Operations:
Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation and household chores.
Encourage and facilitate group activities and peer-led support groups.
Maintain a clean and organized living space.
5. Documentation:
Keep accurate records of interactions, guest progress, and any incidents.
Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
6. Training and Development:
Participate in ongoing training and supervision to enhance peer support skills.
Stay updated on mental health recovery principles and best practices.
7. Collaboration:
Work closely with other staff members, including peer support supervisors and mental health counselors.
Collaborate with community organizations and service providers to connect guests with needed resources.
Additional duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change, and new ones may be added, at any time with or without advanced notice.

Pay: $17.51 - $19.57 per hour

- 12 hour shift
- Overnight shift
