Licensed Clinical Psychologist

  

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Behavioral Health and Drug & Alcohol Services

 

 

SALARY: $150.00/Hour

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for being a professional who provides psychological assessment and treatment in a clinic setting. Our psychologists provide a wide array of mental health services to adults, children and adolescents with all types of emotional, behavioral and neurodevelopmental issues. The ideal candidate will possess superior clinical skills and be able to function as part of a team of specialized psychologists and master level therapists.

Ensures compliance with federal/state requirements and agency and program policies and procedures. Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of program standards that ensure delivery of quality services.

 

JOB STATUS:      Part-Time Exempt

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

 

1.Participates in interviewing clients and assessing them through mental status as well as reviewing records obtained from other patient care staff.

2.Selects and completes appropriate therapeutic interventions based upon clinical knowledge base and educational background (to include individual, group, family, and experiential based models).

3.Provides comprehensive psychological and developmental assessment of children and adults, including those with neurodevelopmental differences.

4.Provides individual, family and group therapies based on the developmental and behavioral health needs of the client.

5.      Develops and manages behavioral plans for clients as necessary.

6.Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding patients’ progress through interdisciplinary team meetings, record review, and informal discussions.

7.Ensures that medical record documentation protocols are complied with. Ensures that clients’ progress notes are entered into the medical records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational procedures.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

 

1.            Participates regularly in staff meetings.

2.            Maintains all state licensure requirements. Builds knowledge of current trends and developments in assessment and treatment through the use of appropriate professional literature, medical workshops and publications. Fulfills continuing education requirements as required by state licensing.

3.            Provides training/supervision to interns as assigned.

4.            Participates in education and training programs for patients, families, or community groups.

5.            Provides consultation to professionals, hospitals, organizations, schools or agencies outside of this organization

6.            Must maintain all other position-specific training as required for licensing.

7.            Membership and involvement in local, state, and national professional organizations is encouraged.

8.            Model and promote good communication, customer service, and positive representation of the organization to clients, customers, referral sources and the public.

9.                  Supervises and manages master level therapists in establishing and maintaining therapeutic structures and activities and compliance to governmental and agency policies and procedures.

10.              Always ensure a high quality of treatment.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBIITIES:

 

  1. Assist the Director in monitoring the functioning of the therapist, providing for direct supervision and ensuring that all evaluations of staff within the work unit are promptly completed.
  2. Organizes and implements training activities for staff.
  3. Attends training to further professional development and represents the agency and program at selected interagency meetings.
  4. Ensures good community relations and keeps executive staff informed of community issues, which affect the work of the unit.
  5. Maintains open lines of communication between program staff and the executive team.
  6. Supervises follow-through of team members with treatment planning.
  7. Maintains community contacts to assure that program clients are receiving maximum benefit from community resources.
  8. Assist the Director in program planning and proposal development and writing.
  9. Participates as a member of the program management team and other agency committees as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit and walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; the employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Proper diction and command of the English language required.  Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in the psychology field, with coursework related to contemporary behavioral treatment. Candidates should be licensed, or able to become licensed, in the State of Pennsylvania.

Training and clinical experience in providing mental health services to children and families. Experience working with children with neurodevelopmental differences and two years of postgraduate clinical experience.

 

Supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Verbal and written communication skills to carry out assigned tasks, cultural competence and knowledge and skill in individual and group counseling is required. Must have a valid PA driver’s license, reliable transportation, and Act 33/34 clearance.
