General Description / Position Summary
Safely operate Three Square vehicles consistent with Federal Commercial Driver License Class B / A, State of Nevada and Three Square safe driving guidelines. Retain a current DOT medical card. Safely load, transport, and unload food and other related product. Maintain positive relationships with donors and our community agencies. This position is responsible for tasks necessary to maintain food handling and food safety guidelines. This role will be required to work in outside and warehouse environment. Work hours may also be deemed outside of normal working hours such as early morning, evenings, weekends and split work week schedule. Safety is critical in all phases of the role (vehicle, donor property, personal, food, pedestrian, traffic, etc.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Operate Three Square commercial vehicles to pick up and deliver products. Ensure truck is properly loaded, secured and within weight limits.
- Ensure equipment pre and post trip inspection reports are filled out accurately, completely, and correctly to ensure compliance with State, Federal laws and Three Square guidelines.
- Load and unload trucks by hand, pallet mover equipment, two wheeler / cart and lift gates
- Follow a schedule of pick-ups and deliveries; maintain record of pick-up and delivery activities, as well as other records deemed necessary by Three Square and our partners.
- Use of cellular phone and other electronic devices, while stopped and within State, Federal and Three Square policies.
- Report vehicle maintenance and equipment repair needs, may need to perform light maintenance such as maintaining air pressure in tires, vehicle fluids, and installing bulbs.
- Ensure proper invoicing and assist in receipting donated product.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior cab, sweep and wash out trailers and / or box of trucks, ensuring food safely and Three Square guidelines are maintained.
- Comply with specialized regulations, such as US Department of Transportation, food handler, warehousing also federal and state regulations.
- Effective time management skills will have to be a priority due to food safety regulations.
- May be required to obtain or possess a current food handler card and adhere to all necessary food safety guidelines to ensure end consumer safety and quality of the food, including your personal hygiene and appearance.
- Provide professional, responsive and appreciative customer service to all agency partners, donors, and co-workers.
- Possess the ability to comprehend various levels of communication to execute the food recovery / delivery process in a fast-paced environment.
- Build relationships with Southern Nevada food industry, community partners and related industry organizations.
- Accurately document, log and store food recovered on a consistent basis with manager and other necessary personnel within Three Square.
- Manage confidential and potentially sensitive information.
- Adhere to and prioritize Three Square’s mission and purpose above other thoughts and feelings on tasks at hand.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
The driver may spend time indoors; requiring standing, repetitive movement, bending or twisting, stooping; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; requires walking and running, contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone or otherwise), face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams; requires exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable, repeating the same physical activities or mental activities over and over. Job tasks may be performed in close proximity to other people.
May push and pull pallets up to 2,500 pounds while operating pallet jack. May lift, move and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Work is typically performed outdoors at donor sites, agencies, community partners and Three Square property also will work outside of normal working hours, such as evenings and weekends.
Work may also be performed in a warehouse setting with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces.
Work conditions during the summer months can be very hot, and during the winter very cold. Employee will be going in and out of freezers, coolers, trailers and box trucks with extreme variations in temperature.
Workspace can be dusty, and can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated. Main work will be performed outside and be exposed to the elements.
Employee may be exposed to allergens, spoiled food, and sharp objects due to working with damaged product.
Work Environment
Work involves moving product that employee must lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects that may be over 50 pounds. Work may also involve using manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jack, fork, carts, two wheel dollies, hand trucks, truck lift gates and forklifts Therefore may require an ability to push and pull pallets over 2,000 pounds and comfort in driving heavy machinery.
