Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Barback/Food-Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced food service environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and accurately, enhancing their dining experience. You will work closely with the kitchen staff and bartenders to maintain efficient service and uphold our high standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
- This position assists the bartender in providing ultimate hospitality for guests in a fine dining environment while ensuring all laws and regulations with respect to the safe and responsible alcoholic beverages are strictly adhered to and by performing the following duties
- Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests
- Answers menu questions posed by guests
- Maintains knowledge of beverages and any food offerings or special menu items offered
- Observes guests behavior and cues that could indicate obvious signs of intoxication
- Provides attentive, friendly and professional service to internal and external guests while communicating in a positive, respectful manner
- May act in the capacity of a server assistant and ensures food items are picked up and served immediately upon availability from the kitchen/bar
- Ensures the quality and presentation meet or exceed the expectations of guests
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, but not required; we welcome those eager to learn.
- Familiarity with food handling practices is essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
- Experience in bussing or kitchen roles is a plus; knowledge of bartending can be beneficial.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
