Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) Overview :
The Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) is responsible for overseeing, planning, and coordinating all physician-related activities to ensure that the highest quality medical care is delivered by the medical staff.
Key Responsibilities :
Establish Medical Standards
Develop and enforce standards for patient care, education, and research.
Provide Professional Support
Offer guidance to the Medical Staff Executive Committee and department leaders.
Monitor and Improve Patient Care
Review and enhance patient care effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives.
Budget Management
Contribute to the creation and oversight of annual budgets, tracking performance against approved plans.
Senior Leadership Participation
Serve on the President's Council, providing regular updates and an annual report on medical staff status.
Committee Involvement
Participate in committees and advisory groups on medico-administrative issues as needed.
Support Quality Improvement
Lead performance improvement efforts and ensure compliance with Quality Review and PRO functions.
Strategic Planning
Collaborate in the development of the hospital’s strategic plan, physician workforce planning, and service expansion.
Physician Recruitment
Assist in recruiting qualified physicians and orienting new medical staff and residents.
Compliance and Liaison
Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws and regulations, and serve as a liaison between medical staff and hospital administration.
Qualifications : Education :
- Education : Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience : 5-10 years of experience in private medical practice required.
- Leadership Experience : Prior experience as a medical director is required.
- Licensure : Current and valid medical license in any U.S. state.
- Board Certification : Current or past Board Certification required.
