Job Summary: MerchSource is a rapidly growing and fast-paced consumer packaged goods company with long-standing relationships with the world’s largest retailers. Our products are occasionally returned by our retailers for a variety of reasons and this role will be a critical component to understanding the drivers of product returns. The Damages and Refurbishment Analyst will provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support our operations, product development and finance teams in order to both improve our customer experience and company profitability. This role will report to the Manager of Operations and Distribution Analytics and will regularly interface with the global CFO, COO and the Chief Supply Chain Officer for North America, while sharing direction from the leaders of US Finance and Operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Working with both internal teams and external customers, routinely gather and scrub product returns data from our top customers and maintain an accurate database of return & damage related data.
- Analyze return data sets for customer-level, product-level and department/category level trends. Prepare succinct and meaningful reporting to advise senior leadership of key drivers.
- Reconcile customer return data against customer sales and deduction history to both validate customer chargebacks and support the internal accounts receivable team in collecting from customers on improper deductions.
- Partner with our refurbishment vendor to gather product refurbishment data. Understand key drivers of product returns/damages and recommend corrective actions to address issues.
- Analyze Customer freight charge data and reconcile against warehouse network distribution to ensure accuracy of customer deductions
- Provide regular input and suggestions to the senior leadership team on improvement opportunities, as well as potential solutions, to programs and initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets. Advanced Excel skills are required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Keen interest in understanding the root cause of challenges and ability to work cross-functionally to resolve these opportunities
- Detail-oriented mindset with a strong eye for accuracy in data interpretation and analysis.
- Comfortable in a fast paced, agile and entrepreneurial environment and a passion for engaging in projects and activities that are broad and varied.
Salary : $85,000
