Summary of Job Duties: In close coordination with QC Laboratory Analysts, this position will manage the Out-of-House (OOH) testing of samples of raw materials and In Process batches of nutritional supplements at contract laboratories as part of the quality evaluation of these items. This includes frequent communication with OOH lab representatives, and internal Quality and Accounting departments. Additionally, this position will be responsible for routing and tracking purchase orders, assisting with laboratory inventories, and occasional document and database updates and organization.
Specific Job Duties:
- Prepare samples for testing at contract (Out-of-House) laboratories, including getting quotes from labs, filling out order forms, packaging samples for shipping, and tracking of tests ordered.
- Communicate by email and phone with OOH lab representatives to get quotes, determine available testing options, and request changes to result report formats.
- Answer clarification questions from OOH labs in a timely manner so as to not hold up testing.
- Answer questions from Threshold’s Accounts Payable department regarding OOH lab invoices.
- Write, collect, and route Purchase Requisitions for approval. Request quotes from vendors as needed. Track ordered items in Purchasing Tracker.
- Help to organize and maintain laboratory documentation and databases (purchase orders, SOPs, training, results, data, logbooks, OSIs, etc.).
- Assist with chemical and laboratory supply inventories as needed.
- Maintain, audit and update various databases, tracking spreadsheets and documentation filing systems as needed, may include data entry and reporting as needed.
- General administrative duties, including some technical writing, proofing, and editing, and coordination and set up of departmental events.
- Assist with company initiative to comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Participate as a fully engaged member of a high performing, self-directed work team to achieve department and company goals.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by Threshold management.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- High School diploma or GED; some college preferred.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat software.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail.
- Ability to balance and successfully track multiple projects at once in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Ability and willingness to learn basic differences between common laboratory methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and external liaisons.
- Self-starter with the ability to learn and grow with changing role needs, able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a strong work ethic.
Skills and/or Training Desired:
- College degree, some college classes, or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with analytical chemistry instrumentation such as HPLC, LCMS, UV-Vis, Titration, and ICP.
- Previous experience in technical writing and editing.
- Experience in Quality Control, inspection, and/or with general analytical laboratory techniques.
- Experience in dietary supplement / GMP environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Access Databases, SharePoint.
- Experience with FDA compliance regulations, particularly in creating an audit trail.
- Background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Salary : $24
