What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advocate for the International Rescue Committee position at Threshold Giving?
The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and reclaim control of their future.
While we are excited to be partnering with IRC, there is much work to be done. Threshold is an organization that empowers Americans by connecting them with ideas that matter. As an Advocate and Fundraiser at Threshold Giving, you stand at the forefront of our strategy, motivating the public on key issues from our kiosks, at events, and out in the communities we serve. Our organizers are canvassing and speaking to issues that matter. Why canvass, you ask? Because it works! We operate independent of the mass media, and bring a simple, unifying message to the public.
Qualifications:
*Strong communication skills
*Genuine passion for helping people
*Fundraising a MUST!
*A strong desire to directly engage with members of your community on these issues
*Must possess laptop/PC and reliable internet
*Willingness and ability to use public transportation (we do NOT require you to have a vehicle).
Compensation/Benefits:
*$25 an hour plus performance bonuses for fundraising
*Paid Time Off
*$500 Per semester tuition reimbursement for current students
