Pharmacy COBOL Programmer

A few of the primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of our pharmacy management system as well as corporate projects pertaining to pharmacy operations.
- Work with our Data Warehouse team to provide business critical data that enable actionable decision making.
- Test programs to ensure proper functionality and design specifications.
- Take active role in debugging, fixing, and enhancing systems.
- Work with end user to research, identify, and resolve problems that occur on the system.
- Assist in writing documentation to describe program functionality for end users.
- Support front-line Tech Help personnel to assist with more difficult problem resolution.
- Ability to read and converse fluently in English. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and minimum of 10 years related work experience in the design, development, and maintenance of COBOL applications.
- Competent to work on a high level of application systems analysis and programming activities.
- Experience working with the Linux operation system is a plus.
- Experience with legacy system modernization is a plus.
- Must be self motivated and capable of working in both an interactive team environment and independently.
- Ability to gain both an overview and a detailed understanding of complex systems. Requires good analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and see tasks through to completion with a tight schedule.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Good attendance and punctuality is required in order to fulfill the essential job functions.
