What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Mentor Recruiter (part-time) position at Thrive Academy?

THRIVE is a school unlike any other – one of the first boarding schools in the country serving at-risk students. The mission of THRIVE is to empower students from underserved Louisiana communities and prepare them academically and personally for success in college and beyond. THRIVE aims to reach this goal through a world-class school in a boarding setting. Serving grades seven through twelve, THRIVE will provide the students and families of Louisiana with a never before-seen service – a free public boarding school. By combining the best educational methods with a 24-hour supportive environment, THRIVE seeks to provide students with a place to learn where nothing can get in the way.
- Develops and supports campus events to engage college students to apply for and work as Residential Mentors at Thrive Academy
- Represents Thrive Academy at university events (e.g. job fairs, tailgates)
- Develops and maintains relationships with student associations to engage college students to apply for and work as Residential Mentors at Thrive Academy
- Actively promotes events and working at Thrive on social media platforms
- Helps with event logistics including, but not limited to: set-up, take-down, registration, ordering items
- Tracks metrics on event success by number of applicants, hired mentors, etc.
- Researches and engages with university students to understand the best event “gifts” to offer at events
- Gets to know current mentors to understand the skillsets, personalities, etc. to be successful at the job
- Set a positive example by being a role model for Residential Mentors and students in the program
- Plan and implement programs and activities to do with students
- Other duties as assigned
- Active university student
- Marketing and/or HR (recruitment) majors preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to use data to support recruitment initiatives
- Willingness to work hard and with fidelity
- Exceptionally organized and able to meet deadlines
Salary : $15 - $16
