Our K-12 programs empower schools to foster resilience, retain students, and promote academic success—all within the supportive environment they belong. 

We are seeking a Clinician for a temporary leave replacement role from mid January 2025 until June 2025 with either an LAC, LSW, LPC or LCSW credentials to support students social, emotional and academic growth in South Plainfield school district for grades K-8.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help students and families gain insight into their difficulties and facilitate change by conducting individual, group and family psychotherapy
  • Provide crisis intervention psychotherapy as needed to address emergent situations during the school day
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments as part of the intake/referral process, discharge summaries, transition planning and goal progress
  • Maintain student's clinical file by recording entries of treatment sessions, completing treatment plans and progress reports, and providing information on goal progress in relevant documentation such as IEP's, I&RS plans, and 504 plans 
  • Prepare discharge summaries and mid-year and end-of-year clinical summaries
  • Prepare clinical presentations for staff meeting regarding issues pertinent to presenting needs
  • Support educational staff through clinical intervention and sharing of knowledge
  • Attend staff meetings and school-related functions as requested

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in counseling, psychology, counseling, social work, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Posses an active LAC, LSW, LPC or LCSW certification 
  • Must have current NJ license. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
  • Knowledge of developmental theory and interventions with students, groups and families. 
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.

Preferred/Nice to have:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally as an LAC, LSW, LPC or LCSW.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage crises and implement de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students, especially those with special needs.
