Position Summary
The Parts and Inventory Specialist is responsible for the effective management, procurement, and distribution of parts and supplies necessary for aircraft operation and maintenance. This role ensures that all parts are available and in compliance with regulatory requirements to support achieving optimal aircraft performance and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the inventory of aircraft parts, tools, and supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain inventory control systems to track parts usage and availability using Corridor software.
- Source and procure aircraft parts, materials, and equipment from approved vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
- Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely and reliable supply of parts.
- Ensure all parts and materials meet FAA regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of parts acquisitions, usage, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Coordinate the shipping, receiving, and distribution of parts and materials.
- Ensure the timely delivery of parts to support maintenance schedules.
- Manage returns and warranty claims with suppliers.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to identify parts requirements and priorities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance staff regarding parts and materials.
- Generate regular reports on inventory status, parts usage, and procurement activities.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for parts management.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day.
- May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet.
- May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- On occasion, you must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while in an outdoor environment.
- The work environment will include a variety of climates as some duties will be performed in hangar space that is not temperature controlled.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be extremely loud.
