What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst position at Thrive Behavioral Health Llc?
Join our team at Thrive Behavioral Health as our Data Analyst. The position will be based out of our Rosedale office and may require travel between our other offices in Bel Air, Millersville, Catonsville, and Montgomery County.
The Data Analyst processes, critically analyzes and reports on information related to services, billings, and other organizational needs. They will use the organizations EMR and other systems to collect, evaluate, and conclude compliance and performance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field including pertinent federal, state and Thrive Behavioral Health regulation, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Attends and/or completes required agency trainings.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of oversight, monitoring, and audit plan related to clinical
- documentation.
- Compiles the aggregate of information from the organizations EMR system and other sources of information to analyze compliance and performance.
- Using the data obtained, creates, maintains, and delivers reports and program updates on a timely basis to applicable staff.
- Supports project management efforts including monitoring and evaluating progress against timelines, project milestones and key deliverables.
- Develops tracking and monitoring mechanisms for ongoing reporting requirements.
- Supports leadership in ensuring that key risk adjustment performance metrics and business objectives are defined and achieved.
- Interfaces with staff to improve and correct data.
- Works as part of a team, as applicable.
- Communicates regularly with Leadership regarding any concerns or needs.
- Identifies and proposes areas for improvement within the data analyst function and throughout the organization, as appropriate.
- Performs other duties and tasks as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of industry standards as related to the position of a Data Analyst in Healthcare.
- Extensive knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Access and SQL including ability to write queries based on business need
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a variety of professionals and community members.
- Passion for improving access to behavioral health services and supporting those in need.
- A positive, goal-oriented mindset and a team-player approach.
- Effective listener and solid verbal communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands.
- Must possess a reading and writing level that provides for clear expression and/or understanding of assignments related to job description.
- Exceptionally detail oriented and organized.
- Has the ability to consistently consult with supervisor when necessary and works as a team.
- Must be flexible and able to demonstrate self-motivation and prioritization.
- Ability to represent the program well with interactions both inside and outside the facility in person, through electronic correspondence, and over the telephone.
- A keen eye for analyzing data and concisely articulating the outcome.
- Heavily engaged with staff and external partners, as applicable for ones role.
- Skilled at maintaining discretion and confidentiality as a professional and in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or GED equivalent or seven years work experience.
- A bachelors degree in a related field such as business management, actuary science, statistics, healthcare administration, or similar is desired.
- Prefers five years experience with data analysis which includes use of statistical methods and experience with programming language with three years being in a healthcare environment.
- Prefers CPR/First Aid Certification but not required.
