Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Staff / Portfolio Accountant Purpose:
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting monthly financial cycle. The Corporate Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial data while offering internal customer support to our property accounting team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Complete calculations and transfers for Thrive’s revenue from managed properties and other external sources.
- Oversee daily GL and balance sheet maintenance.
- Partner with Human Resources for bi-weekly payroll, including but not limited to initiating bank transfer, reviewing payroll registers, and posting payroll entries for all properties.
- Assist with implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Initiate all corporate payments, including ACH and Wires, both to clients and vendors.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet and bank account reconciliations.
- Manage corporate cardholder program, including compliance tracking and training.
- Assist with the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Assist with strategic financial analysis and support for business decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and improve financial performance.
- Provide excellent customer service and professional communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience; industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing financial operations for a company with multiple entities and complex financial structures.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Yardi, Realpage, Bill.com) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Has well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish highly functional relationships with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Hybrid work environment in an open floor plan.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
