The Learner Services Manager (LSM) is a multifaceted role responsible for driving student retention, program completion, engagement, and career placement rates. As a hybrid role combining the functions of student success, career readiness, and re-engagement, LSMs ensure students receive the guidance and resources needed to achieve their academic and career goals. They serve as primary points of contact for assigned universities and cohorts, managing the full lifecycle of student engagement.
Essential Functions
- Student Retention and Success
- Act as the main point of contact for students, building strong relationships and providing ongoing support throughout their journey.
- Monitor attendance, academic performance, and student engagement, implementing proactive interventions to address at-risk behaviors.
- Maintain consistent outreach to students through scheduled touchpoints (calls, emails, Slack, LMS, and virtual meetings).
- Resolve escalations and challenges, collaborating with internal teams to ensure swift and effective solutions.
- Re-Engagement and Completion
- Identify and contact students who have paused or disengaged from the program in Incomplete Status to address barriers and encourage completion.
- Develop tailored plans to support re-entry and maintain progress toward completion.
- Provide personalized guidance on navigating academic, financial, and technical challenges.
- Career Readiness and Placement
- Guide students through the career readiness process, including resume building, LinkedIn optimization, and interview preparation.
- Collaborate & connect students with employment opportunities and employer partnerships.
- Conduct mock interviews and provide constructive feedback to prepare students for the job market.
- Track and report placement metrics, ensuring alignment with department goals.
- University Partnership Management
- Oversee assigned university partnerships, maintaining strong relationships with institutional stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary liaison for program updates, student progress reports, and collaborative initiatives.
- Represent ThriveDX in university meetings and events, aligning program goals with institutional objectives.
- Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress, and outcomes in centralized systems.
- Leverage data insights to optimize outreach strategies and identify areas for improvements
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for student success and career readiness.
Education and Experience
- Proven experience in student success, career coaching, academic advising, or related areas.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and build trust.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), career tools (e.g., Big Interview), and CRM platforms
