Job Title: Cost Accounting & Pricing Manager
Department: Finance
Reports to: Director of Finance
Location: Onsite, Hybrid or Remote, depending on location: Texas, Wisconsin, or Utah (must reside in one of these states)
The Cost Accounting Manager with Pricing Experience is responsible for analyzing and managing product costs, developing pricing strategies, and ensuring profitability across the organization. This role involves working closely with finance, sales, procurement, and operations teams to assess cost structures, improve cost efficiencies, and set competitive and sustainable pricing models.
Essential Functions Include:
Costing & Financial Analysis:
- Develop and maintain accurate cost models for products and services.
- Analyze raw material, production, and operational costs to optimize pricing and profitability.
- Monitor cost variances and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new products, projects, and process improvements.
- Working closely with other teams to closely track and report movements in costs
- Manage, train, and review work of cost accounting team
Pricing Strategy & Implementation:
- Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to optimize pricing structures for different customer segments.
- Ensure pricing policies comply with company financial goals and regulatory requirements.
- Analyzing price change requests from the sales team by evaluating margin impact, potential incremental volume, and competitor price levels
- Coordinate a pricing committee to propose and obtain approval for customer pricing and pricing actions.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support financial planning by providing cost estimates and price projections.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to costing and pricing.
- Assist in annual budget preparation by assessing cost impacts and revenue projections.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Enhance costing and pricing models through process improvements and automation.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on cost and pricing methodologies.
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role including solid exposure to managing pricing processes, implementing pricing initiatives, and creating pricing process documentation
- You possess a strong understanding of pricing strategies and concepts
- You have excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- You possess strong analytical skills, are comfortable dealing with numerical data, and have strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel up to 10%
