The Environmental, Health, and Safety Supervisor is a critical position at Thrive Foods, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. This role requires a dedicated professional who can lead cross-functional teams to implement and maintain effective safety protocols, monitor and report incidents, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
In this role, you will develop and implement site-specific safety initiatives, leveraging your expertise in occupational safety and risk management to identify areas for improvement and drive results. You will work closely with operations teams, quality, and maintenance departments to evaluate work processes and safety needs, recommending process improvements to enhance overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement site-specific safety initiatives to minimize risks and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Lead corporate safety efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Investigate incidents, compile reports, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate organizational risks.
- Monitor and track incidents, observations, and corrective actions recorded in EHS systems, ensuring accuracy, completion, and compliance.
- Collaborate with teams to identify potential workplace hazards and implement control measures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
- Communicate with TPA/Insurance companies to manage workers' compensation cases effectively.
- Maintain oversight of all processes, procedures, and actions related to safety at the site, its resources, and personnel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, safety management, or a similar field preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, demonstrating excellence in the workplace.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to train groups of employees in a classroom or on the production floor.
- Effective judgment and ability to establish healthy relationships with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and governing agencies.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
Product Safety and Quality:
- Prioritize food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Drys food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Drys food safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines and policies, communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to leadership teams or teammates.
- Adhere to and ensure Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Comply with GMPs regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to employees.
Work Environment:
The role requires frequent temperature variations, unrestricted visual and audio abilities, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. The job demands frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and some fine finger dexterity. The work requires sitting (40% or more), walking (40% or more), and standing (20% or more).
