Day Shift (Monday to Friday)
Job Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator
Department: Quality
Reports to: Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Perform assigned duties to ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of Thrive Freeze Dry’s products.
- Maintain and own the product release and product hold databases for Quality. Verify products on hold are disposed of or reworked properly.
- Document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Ensure product Certificate of Analysis (COA) creation is accurate and timely.
- Ensure product testing and retention samples are collected according to product specifications.
- Maintain product damage reports.
- Maintain quality supply inventory and ordering.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints relating to quality and food safety.
- Serve as a PCQI to perform record review for production, sanitation, pest control.
- Identify trends and track relevant KPIs.
- Ensure all relevant product safety and quality records are reviewed and filed properly.
- Participate in internal audits, as well as second- and third-party audits.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within the organization. A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail and the ability to analyze and resolve problems. In addition to, strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must have at minimum, a basic knowledge of food plant quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Must be able to interpret SOPs, policies, and product specifications.
- PCQI certification preferred. Must be able to achieve certification in allotted time.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and some fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 70% or more sitting, 20% or more walking, and 20% or more standing.
- The job is performed under some temperature variations in a food manufacturing production environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 40 lbs. is required.
