Job Overview: Delivering Babies & Dad Jokes Since Forever
Are you a Labor & Delivery RN who thrives under pressure, can coach a nervous dad through cutting the umbilical cord, and knows that ice chips are basically a gourmet meal in the delivery room? If so, United Healthcare Staffing has the perfect role for you.
We’re looking for skilled, compassionate, and quick-thinking RNs who can handle 12-hour shifts, unpredictable delivery times, and the occasional panicked partner fainting mid-labor. If you’ve mastered the art of keeping cool when the baby decides it’s GO TIME at 3 AM, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing (Besides Being a Superhero)
- Assisting with the miracle of birth – from early contractions to "congratulations, it’s a… surprise!"
- Managing epidurals, monitoring fetal heart rates, and telling first-time parents that yes, babies do cry a lot
- Keeping cool, calm, and collected when things go from 0 to 100 in seconds (because babies don't follow schedules)
- Comforting nervous parents-to-be while secretly hoping the playlist they brought isn’t just whale sounds for 12 hours
- Handling high-energy deliveries and the occasional “You said push WHEN?!” moment
The Details (Because You’re a Professional, After All)
Unit Type: Labor & Delivery
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (because babies love 3 AM surprises)
Scheduling: Rotating shifts, including weekends & holidays (babies don’t take PTO)
Experience Needed: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery
Licenses & Certifications:
- RN License (State-specific required upon submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (because, again, babies are unpredictable)
The Perks & Benefits
- Scrub Color? Whatever makes you feel like the rockstar you are
- Work Environment? Fast-paced, high-energy, and full of life (literally)
- Guaranteed Hours? Yes, stability is key
- Team Support? You’ll work with top-tier OBs, fellow RNs, and L&D rockstars
- Every Other Weekend Off? Just kidding. But we’ll try to make it fair
