RN – Med Surg Tele – Nights | Alexandria, LA
Location: Alexandria, LA
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week | Every other weekend & holidays required
Start Date: 2 weeks from offer
Radius Rule: Must live 50 miles from facility
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg Tele team in Alexandria, LA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment at a hospital with Pathways to Excellence Certification, Certified Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, and a Level II Trauma Center.
Unit Details:
- Unit: 4 South – Med Surg Tele
- Number of Beds: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Support Staff:
- 2 unit secretaries (0600–2200 daily)
- Patient care techs available 24/7 (ratio varies with census)
- Equipment:
- Telemetry in every room
- Monitors at nurse stations
- Dynamaps, glucometers, bladder scanners, iMobile phones
- EMR: Meditech
- Floating: Required to float to other units as needed
- Dress Code: Ceil Blue Scrubs
Skills & Requirements:
Must-Haves:
- Positive attitude & strong work ethic
- Flexibility & dependability
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- BLS & ACLS certifications
Advanced Skills Required:
- Telemetry rhythm interpretation
Preferred Experience:
- PICC line and vas/temp cath removal
Documentation & Care Standards:
- Bedside shift reports
- Hourly rounding
- Use of My Care Boards
- AIDET communication framework
