The Marketing & Communications Specialist will play a critical role in supporting Thrive’s marketing and branding initiatives by enhancing our presence through content creation, digital marketing, and promotional materials. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and driven to develop impactful marketing content that aligns with our mission. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys supporting strategic marketing efforts that increase brand awareness and engagement. This individual will work very closely with the Director of Project Management and Communications to ensure alignment with Thrive’s strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage branded marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, social media graphics, and event signage to ensure consistent messaging and adherence to organizational branding
- Create engaging social media content (including graphics, videos, and written posts) to build awareness and strengthen the organization’s online presence
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and promoting organizational events, conferences, and workshops
- Support the execution of marketing campaigns by drafting content, scheduling posts, and tracking engagement metrics
- Manage email marketing efforts, including developing newsletters, promotional emails, and audience segmentation to maximize outreach
- Attend events and represent Thrive by networking with event attendees and passing out marketing materials
- Collaborate with leadership to integrate marketing initiatives into broader organizational strategies
- Monitor social media and digital engagement analytics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and provide insights for continuous improvement
- Support internal teams by creating marketing materials that enhance program awareness and service accessibility.
- Coordinate logistics for marketing-related events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up communication
- Assist in managing and promoting the Thrive Store, including marketing merchandise and overseeing inventory updates
- Work with external stakeholders to build relationships, enhance brand visibility, and foster collaborative marketing opportunities
- Stay updated on industry trends in digital marketing, social media, and branding to ensure Thrive’s strategies remain relevant and effective
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge of substance use disorder and mental health issues, as well as a genuine passion for making a positive impact in this field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Proficient understanding of social media management and content creation
- Collaborative and proactive, with a team-oriented approach to working with internal teams
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

- Analytical skills for monitoring and reporting
- Proficient level of ability with computers; Microsoft Office Products; basic design software, teleconferencing platforms, and other industry and role-related software
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, for community events
- Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation to attend offsite events as needed
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in digital marketing, branding, content creation, or public relations—preferably in a nonprofit or community-based setting—will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
