The Workforce Development Program Coordinator will primarily be responsible for developing the workforce around peer support and other services, through multiple channels including internship programs, as well as internal professional development programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead workforce development initiatives to support new hires, interns and/or internal staff in their growth and development
- Coordinate both internally and externally with partners to provide employees with additional learning opportunities
- Build relationships and serve as a liaison with various agencies and organizations within the community to assist in providing opportunities for individuals coming through the workforce development programming
- Work closely with individuals interested in pursuing peer support and/or behavioral health as a career option and guiding them through the certification process
- Conduct and facilitate CCAR trainings to prospective peer supporters
- Build awareness of peer support and/or behavioral health as a career, maintaining partnerships with various organizations and agencies to support the development of our workforce
- Organize and lead training workshops and modules for staff to attend
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to schedule speakers, training opportunities, and other requirements of the program, ensuring beneficial and valuable content is provided to all participants
- Manages internship schedules, needs, coordination and shadowing
- Lead internal efforts to provide ongoing education and development to all employees, particularly those employees who are new in their roles
- Assist in ensuring required training is provided for various credentials across the organization including peer support and QBHS and ensuring the documentation for these trainings is in place
- Provide feedback to participants to allow for them to grow and develop in their career and job readiness
- Provide strategic insight to management on how to continue to improve the programs on an ongoing basis
- Oversee certification process and ensure all required documentation is in place ahead of submittal to the state
- Provide ongoing support as needed through the workforce development program
- Provide internal and external partners with the appropriate reporting
- Serve as a back up for orientation or other training initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Identify as being in recovery and having lived experience with substance use disorder and/or mental health
- Be able to become CCAR certified within 180 days from hire
- Be able to become an Ohio Certified Peer Supporter within 90 days from hire; strongly preferred already Certified
- Working knowledge of the Peer Support certification process and the ability to successfully guide others through this process
- Willing to think outside the box and ability to think creatively to build new components to Thrive’s programming
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to motivate participants through the process
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects at once
- Strategic thinker and able to offer solutions and proactive process improvements
- Basic knowledge of employment law, especially related to the recruiting process and selecting interns for the program
- Ability to be an active listener by asking questions and reflecting on what is being said
- Proficient level of ability with computer; including all Microsoft Office Products, Zoom and G Suite and other industry and job related software
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to articulate information clearly
- Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in workforce development and building relationships with community partners
- Certified Peer Supporter in the state of Ohio
- CCAR Facilitator certification
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
