What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Service Advocate position at Thrive Survivor Support Center?
Position Objective: To directly support survivors of violence in a trauma informed, survivor centered way.
Responsibilities include working directly with survivors to assess needs, safety plan, and provide support either in person, on the hotline or via text/webchat.
Make referrals to additional services and educate survivors about resources available in order to ensure informed decision making.
This position will be responsible for meeting with survivors in the office and in the community so reliable and accessible transportation throughout the workday is required. Data collection and entry are also required parts of the role.
35 hour training provided.
Required Qualifications include:
- Comfort meeting with people face to face, over the phone or virtually
- Passion for serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or human trafficking
- Strong ability to form relationships and actively listen
- Strong compassion for survivors of violence
- Reliable/accessible transportation for travel throughout Merrimack County during the work day is required
- Willingness to work as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services/Social Work and/or some formal education and 1-2 years of experience working in a Human Service setting preferred. Other experience considered.
- Understanding of service systems within Merrimack County (or desire to learn)
- Intermediate understanding of technology to be able to complete all components of the role.
- Experience and comfort with using Microsoft Office applications, Zoom, and other technology independently after initial training.

Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
