Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for our clinic, providing exceptional customer service to patients and visitors. This role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a background in medical terminology and administrative support. The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, verifying insurance, and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally as they arrive at the clinic.
- Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health record systems such as Simple Practice.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details, ensuring accuracy in medical records.
- Assist with medical collections and billing inquiries, providing support to patients regarding their accounts.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring all materials are stocked and accessible.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Utilize medical terminology knowledge to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in office software and computerized systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical insurance terminology, and ICD-10 coding for accurate record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a clinic or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
